Bala Kathiresan is the President and CEO of BCNET and a member of the British Columbia Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills Administrative Services Consortium.
He brings over 25 years of experience in information systems and strategic leadership across both the public and private sectors. He has a proven track record of facilitating strategic vision, managing execution, and achieving organizational excellence. Bala has successfully led the development of strategic alliances with a diverse range of stakeholders, fostering a shared vision. He has served on several not-for-profit and public sector boards and currently serves on the BCNET Board and Health Claims for Auto Insurance Board. Additionally, Bala is the past-chair of the National Research and Education Network Governance Committee, Ontario Council of Chief Information Officers and Treasurer of the Canadian Council of Chief Information Officers. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree, an MBA, and a certificate from the Institute of Corporate Directors.
