Doris Stamml is a seasoned legal professional and executive with more than 30 years of experience working in a leading professional and consulting services organization. She recently retired from a lengthy career as Chief Legal Counsel and Executive Committee Member of Ernst & Young LLP (EY) and was honoured with a Canadian General Counsel Lifetime Achievement Award.
Doris is highly respected for her strong business acumen across functions with deep expertise in governance, DEI, risk management, legal and regulatory compliance, strategy and business planning and execution, and talent management.
She is a graduate of Osgoode Hall Law School and is a Certified Corporate Director (ICD.D). She is a member of the Board of Directors of ORION and The Canadian Canoe Museum and the Vice Chair of the Board of Governors of Fleming College.
Doris is deeply passionate about diversity, equity and inclusion and has been recognized for her long track record of championing the next generation of female leaders. She is a past member of Cabinet of the United Way of Toronto and York Region where for several years she co-chaired its Women United Initiative.
Doris is most proud of her initiatives in support of coaching, mentoring, sponsoring and advancing the careers of women in law and business. In 2017, Doris received the Women’s Law Association of Ontario’s General Counsel Award for her active leadership and commitment to the success of women in law. She strives to help others achieve the often sought after “work life” balance. As a mother of four, she understands the incredible challenges working parents face every day and generously gives her time and shares her networks to assist the next generation to advance their careers.
